April 26, 2000 (Greenville, NC) – Richardson Electronics, a leading distributor of transmitter and studio products, has been appointed as a worldwide distributor for LBA Technology, Inc.

LBAT has 35 years experience designing and manufacturing highly specialized medium wave (AM) antenna systems – including antenna tuning units, directional antenna phasing systems, transmitter combiners, folded unipole antennas, diplexers, triplexers, transportable antenna systems and high power RF components.

LBAT has widely fielded proprietary systems that convert and allow broadcast towers to support cellular and PCS antennas. LBAT is also a major supplier of detuning systems (which aid in the control of interference from cellular telephone towers) and provides systems that protect transmission facilities from lightning discharges. Additionally, LBAT has the capability of designing and implementing turnkey transmitting facilities worldwide.
