LBA Group, Inc. and American Tower to Undertake Development of AM Broadcast Colocation Sites
Greenville, NC – November 2, 2000—The LBA Group, Inc. (“LBA“) announced the active development of collocated communication facilities on AM broadcast towers in the establishment of a strategic alliance with American Tower Corporation (“ATC”). LBA companies will provide ATC the requested engineering services, FCC and other regulatory support, and all other capabilities necessary to address the unique requirements of colocation on AM broadcast towers.
In February 1998 LBA Technology announced a new turn-key proprietary conversion technology system which would allow the location of wireless communications antennas on existing “hot” North American AM broadcast towers. Utilizing the proprietary colocation equipment of their wholly owned subsidiary, Lawrence Behr Associates, Inc. has equipped many broadcast sites for numerous carriers who in the past had traditionally avoided them and considered AM towers unavailable.
“I have always been a believer in the viability and potential income stream of the AM broadcast towers”, said Lawrence Behr, Chairman and CEO of LBA Group, Inc. “This strategic partnership between our two organizations will utilize LBA’s extensive knowledge of this technology and bring added value to the tower assets of American Tower Corporation.”
The LBA Group of Greenville, North Carolina has 37 years of broadcast and wireless industry experience. LBA, and its wholly owned subsidiaries, provides services and equipment to the U.S. and international wireless industries. The services include regulatory compliance, colocation optimization, electromagnetic interference, including AM broadcast compatibility, and technology management for the cellular, PCS, and other wireless industries.
