Why do patients need turning with the Turn-EZ™?
The pathophysiologic result of prolonged pressure from lying on a soft or hard surface or shearing forces (pressure that occurs when the body slides or is moved without lifting) on the skin is a pressure ulcer. The Turn-EZ™ can help decrease this problem.

Is skin breakdown a serious problem?
Yes, because broken skin (pressure sores) may become infected. The infectious microorganisms may also enter the blood leading to severe medical emergencies such as bacteremia or septicemia.

How will the Turn-EZ™ be useful for elderly patients?
Aging skin is typically dry, often accompanied by itching and flaking. Sebaceous glands produce less protective oil. As the skin's firmness and thickness diminishes over time, elderly skin is at increased risk of breakdown. Frequent turning helps decrease this problem.
