Technology, Inc. Static Discharge Systems (SDS) are designed to remove unwanted
static charges from insulated guy wires, towers, or other isolated radio
frequency structures. The high inductive reactance of the SDS windings minimizes
the impact of the discharge function upon the radio frequency operation
of the host system. With optional capacitor tuning, very high impedances
may be achieved for applications in the most critical radio systems.
SDS units are available in four basic configurations which can be used singly or in combination to achieve a wide range of isolation and RF voltage standoff capabilities. In addition, several mounting options are available to permit guy wire, pedestal, and interior installation. Pedestal systems include rain shields. This versatility enables a variety of applications for discharge of guys, feeders, and tower or wire antennas.
These high quality SDS units are fabricated of heavy duty structural fiberglass and non-corrosive metal fittings. Each SDS unit is completely coated with an epoxy system for maximum environmental protection and resistance to installation handling.
Installation costs are minimized as the attachment fittings for guy mounted SDS units require only simple hand tools. Coupled with the light weight of typical units, “bosun’s chair” installation without complex rigging is practical.
