The appeal of the Kathrein/Schomandl MSK-125 signal analyzer begins with its versatility. It is a multi-standard spectrum analyzer, a MER/BER analyzer, a satellite meter, and a terrestrial, cable and audio measurement device. With all of that, it is portable and durable. For satellite installation, its SatFinder uses acoustic signaling to quickly align a dish with a beamed signal. The MSK-125 supports and analyzes Analog and Digital systems whether satellite, CATV, Over the Air TV and Microwave.
For cable work, the MSK-125 analyzes and sorts DVB-C, DVB-S/S2 and T/H signals. Digital metering is not a problem either: it just as easily implements MPEG-4 decoding and measures HDTV and FM-SAT radio transmissions.

Specific Uses for Satellite & CATV
The MSK-125 signal analyzer is specifically designed to handle multiple applications within the satellite and CATV arena. These include installing, repairing and maintaining (1) CCTV systems, (2) TVRO Receive Only TV systems, (3) VSAT, (4) Maritime Satellite and CATV, (5) analog and digital cable headends, (6) MDU cable networks, (7) Video Conferencing systems, (8) Single Frequency Networks and (9) satellite receiving stations. It can even analyze and measure over-the-air analog and digital TV signals.
The various signals utilized by cable companies are just as easily analyzed and demodulated by the unit. A technician can sort out DVB-C, DVB-S/S2 and T/H signals on his hand-held MSK-125 without resorting to other pieces of equipment. This versatility makes the unit especially handy for a technician and cost-effective for the company executive minding the bottom line. CATV field technicians can use it to facilitate customer installations and increase productivity.
The MSK-125 loses none of its usefulness as a technical testing tool as we move into the digital world: the device implements MPEG-4 decoding and measures HDTV and FM-SAT radio transmissions.
Features of the MSK-125 Signal Analyzer
The unit is equipped with a high-quality, transflective 5.7” TFT VGA resolution color screen and a two-line, 22-digit LC display to show measured values. The calibrated spectrum function features a sweep rate of approx. two seconds. The built-in CI slot allows display of coded programs (1). The featured meter memory bank enables one to save up to 100 meter settings. Up to 100 measurement results can also be saved on an SD card and then exported via the USB port onto a PC.
