NC) – The U.S. Patent Office has granted Lawrence Behr a
patent for a new system which helps resolve the critical requirement for
wireless antenna space by making thousands of AM broadcast towers available
for cellular, public safety and PCS industry use. Offered by LBA Technology,
Inc. as the CoLoCoil™, this system permits trouble-free wireless antenna
colocation on AM broadcast antenna towers. AM towers are frequently in highly
desirable locations, and are often easier to zone than new towers, yielding
construction economies and time-to-market advantages to cellular and PCS
operators. However, before the advent of the LBA CoLoCoil™ system, the installation
of wireless antennas on AM towers was often complex and unreliable because
AM towers are "hot" with RF energy.
With the CoLoCoil™ colocation system installed, wireless antenna and coaxial cable installations have virtually no effect on the host AM tower, and the AM signal has no effect on the wireless antenna installation. LBA’s CoLoCoil™ is suitable for 3G, PCS, public safety, cellular, ESMR, fixed wireless and all other communications services.
