Mobility, Fixed, and Broadcast
Services
General Technical Features:
- All frequency coverage: 30 MHz to
60 GHz
- Complete selection of the most accurate
propagation prediction models, including capability to create custom
propagation model algorithms. Free space optics (laser) propagation
modeling is also available.
- Most coverage study capabilities include
shadowing, path loss, BER, field strength, received power, C/(I+N),
percent service availability, group-to-group interference, base-to-mobile
and mobile-to-base signal levels.
- Point-to-multipoint studies for MMDS,
LMDS, and WLL systems.
- Full microwave path analysis including
path profile, rain and fade outage, percent availability, dispersive
fade margin, antenna diversity reception, and cross-link interference.
- Adaptive capabilities for considering
trees, buildings, or terrain elevation enhancements in propagation link
studies, and such factors as occupied bandwidth in interference studies.
- Evaluation of omni, directional or
adaptive (“smart”) antenna types and ability to define antenna patterns
for transmit and receive antennas (including co- and cross-polarization
patterns).
- Extensive database support - U.S.
and worldwide terrain, canopy, groundcover, demographic, building and
traffic data can be added as map layers in signal studies. Compatibility
supported with ArcView® terrain elevation files and Planet® terrain
elevation and land use (clutter) files, and other industry databases.
- Database and full function support
of all FCC radio regulations and applications
- Full support for fixed optic (FSO)
laser networks
Documentation and Management
Capabilities:
- Composite grid, 3D mesh, composite
contour, color gradients and radial line map plot types for signal studies,
terrain, groundcover, demographic, and traffic data. Area studies can
be displayed as colored gradients draped over terrain or as transparent
study layers. There are also capabilities for shaded terrain relief
with illumination control, integrated 3D building and terrain displays,
as well as raster map images and aerial/satellite photos flowing over
3D terrain displays.
- Analysis software permits unlimited
number of area studies and multiple maps creation. It includes a full
set of drawing tools for adding text, symbols, lines, polygons, buildings,
etc. to study maps. Polygons can also be used to create custom traffic,
demographic, land use (clutter), or ground conductivity databases.
- LBA supports a wide variety of vector
and raster map data layers including .BNA files, MapInfo® files, ArcView®
files, .DXF files, scanned images of aerial photos, satellite photos,
and other maps.
- Full project management capabilities
for large project support and documentation, including workgroup sharing
of centralized network database and ability to drill down through multiple
layers of analysis and GIS information to get a comprehensive report
of everything that is known about the system and environment under study.
